Do Russian dwarf hamsters like being handled less then Syrian hamsters?

I've had two for a while and I handle them daily yet they still graze their teeth against my skin when im holding them. Im very gentle and have had a hamster before so know how to handle them. Is this a bad habit or are they just playing?
