How do I download a movie onto my computer from a DVD?

My sister is doing a video where she commentates on a movie ('Eragon'. MY advice? NEVER SEE IT. IT MADE MY EYES BURN.) We have a DVD that we bought, she just needs to download it onto our computer so that we can start doing voice-overs. Does anyone know how to download the movie onto our desktop? Thanks.
