I recently purchased the Avid Vocal Studio?

I recently purchased the Avid Vocal Studio that comes with a M-Audio Producer USB microphone and a ProTools SE CD. I have loaded the ProTools software and connected the USB mirophone to my PC (Windows 7). When I connect the mic and it installs the driver, I received a error message about 11-character plug-ins, I click No and Protools starts up but crashes my computer with the blue screen and reboot. What's going on here?
