In BC, what kind of trouble can someone get into for shooting your dog?

What a b@st@rd! If he shot my dog I'd stick that shotgun so far up his @ss that the doctor would declare it permanently attached! Every dogowner has the right to know if their pet's life is threatened by a decrepit, gun wielding maniac who should know better. Legally he ought to make his intentions known so people could keep their dogs away from his horses.
